From hero to zero

It’s not all that bad – Robby Gordon always will be a winner with the Baja Racing fans – yet from winner to position 7 in the race standing is the “verdict” by SCORE. SCORE Intl. released the official results today for the Tecate SCORE Baja 500 this past weekend, and there’s a huge shakeup for the Trophy Truck class, with Rick D. Johnson taking the win, while Nick Vanderwey moved into second overall. Robby Gordon and BJ Baldwin moved down to seventh and eighth place, respectively. The overall win for the race went to Class 1 Harley Letner, who finished with the best time. The changes to the official results come after review of the tracking devices used by each driver, and penalties for speeding or missing/cutting parts of the course are imposed.
it will be quiet interesting to get the first response from Robby Gordon in that matter. There truly (for good or bad) is no one else in Offroad Racing quite like Robby Gordon. A look at his career suggests he was meant for the path of a lone wolf! To me he’s the kind of “old” racer – go out at the green flag with the knife between the teeth and race until the checkered flag. That guy would even fight for a second to last place…. Robby Gordon is the most prominent “victim” of the adjusted results being send back to 7th. place from the winner podium.
So are many other racers – B.J. Baldwin from second place to 8th., Armin Schwarz in Class1 from second to 9th. – More classes / adjusted results will be released by SCORE – the review continues.
