Racers always seem to return to places of past success and this weekend’s 25th Annual MasterCraft Safety Tecate SCORE San Felipe 250 will certainly be no exception as 74 desert racers who have combined for 177 class wins are all part of the ferocious field of nearly 250 entries in this popular spring race on Mexico’s majestic Baja California peninsula. Attracting entries from 22 states and nine countries, the lineup includes 28 entries in SCORE Trophy-Truck, 750+ horsepower unlimited production trucks. The Score International Primm 300 race is a very special race for driver Armin Schwarz; its where the obsession began for him. In 2006 he was invited to the race, as a spectator, by partners of AGM; Armin was immediately hooked. Since then, Armin and Martin have won 1st in class in 2008, 2009 and now 2010. The back to back to back wins are unheard of in this level of racing. Armin Schwarz started off in the #107 BMW powered JIMCO with navigator Bryan Lyttle. Armin Kramer and navigator Sam Osman would go off the line four minutes later in the #111 car. Both Navigators would stay in for the duration of the race, while both drivers would run the first two laps before handing the cars over to teammates Martin Christensen and Andy Aigner, respectively. This years race will start and finish on Boulevard Costero adjacent to the picturesque Bahia de Todos Santos in front of the historical Riviera del Pacifico Cultural Center in the heart of Ensenada. Pre-running on the 672.85-mile loop course officially began this past Saturday. Pre-running is allowed from Ojos Negros and back, starting at race mile 43.3. One way pre-running from the start to Ojos Negros will be allowed only on Wednesday and Thursday of race week (Nov. 18 and 19). During the race, the first section of the course, approximately 40 miles, will be used both leaving the city and returning to Ensenada. While late entries are accepted up to race day, a total of 326 entries have officially been accepted for the race as of today which will put the starting field in the top 10 in the 42-year history of the storied event. The car and truck classes with the most entries to date are SCORE Trophy-Truck (35), Class 1 (24), Class 1-2/1600 (15) and SCORE Lite (14) and Class 10 (10). Initially as runner up to Rob MacCachren in his new Mastercraft Jimco Rockstar trophy truck ride classified was the standing a different one after the complete data tracking review. Robby Gordon wins in his Monster Toyo Tires Chevrolet by 1 minute and 2 seconds. Rob MacCachren and 8 other trophy trucks out of the top 10 got penalized for speeding in a speed limited zone.
